每次登山總是擔心會發生這種事. 迷路或被動物攻擊反而沒有那麼的擔心. 畢竟在這裡登山常常還是見不到一個人.
舉個上星期才剛去過的 Heybrook Lookout Trail. 在我們還沒上 Lookout 之前, 最後一組的人已經下山了. 第一次 2003 年 9 月去的時候, 從上山到下山就只有我們. 停車場上就只有我們的車. 想想這幾年去的 Trails, 有兩至三成的機會 Trails 上沒有半個人. 去 US-2 和 Mountain Look Highway 上的 Trails 人潮比不上 I-90 上的人. 我們去 I-90 上的 Trails 總是停滿了車. 一些受歡迎的 Trails 連停車位都找不到.
槍聲, 在 Trails 上每年總是會聽到或看到一兩次. 不少愛槍人士喜好到這些郊區玩槍...至少不用付錢給靶場. 雖然是說看多了也是見怪不怪, 但心裡總是會有個陰影.
每次登山, 這種事總是在我的腦袋裡揮之不去. 不過這件事不會讓我停止登山健行, 不會減低我對人少的國家森林的喜好. 深山裡的湖畔, 溪旁, 或是山嶺上, 它總是無時無刻的告訴我, 它才是這個世界上的主人. 我永遠只是在這小徑上的過客.
目前我會暫時走人多的 I-90 上的 Trails!!! 希望警察伯伯能夠快一點找出事件的真相...
